As was mentioned....for those folks especially who've given their entire lives to the borg and not being able to fully enjoy their few years left...really makes me feel sad.

does anyone ever feel this way when they see older family members (parents, grandparents etc) growing old or experiencing failing health?.
do you ever feel that you should be able to somehow keep them alive - and feel frustrated and hopeless that you can't?.
cedars.

Good day all…I haven’t posted in a while, but still reading some of the posts…been very busy at my job!
So as you know, my job requires some amount of traveling (another excuse I gave for stepping down as an MS a couple months ago). At one of the locations that my employer owns ( where I’m temporarily reassigned), there are few JW’s…magazines are laying around and are given out to other co-workers…only two persons at this location know that I’m somehow associated with the borg. We hardly communication though…plus I knew these two folks prior to knowing TTATT.
There is one of the young ladies who is a JW…she has a nice personality and extremely attractive. My interaction with the JW’s at my new location is very minimal, primarily work related conversations. The young lady I mentioned earlier (23) has a good sense of humor for a JW, so I do joke with her when I pass by her work station, but she doesn’t know my JW background. She takes her magazine folder with her to work and does street witnessing after work in the city. She gives literature to my coworkers and I’m sure that I’ll be receiving an memorial invitation from her…don’t know how to handle it when she asks me if I’m going to attend?
Her coworkers tease her at times for not having a BF ect…she tells them she’s waiting on a spiritual person blah blah blah…she laughs it off when they tease her, but I know deep down inside she feels odd at times. Even before I knew she was a JW, I was attracted to her, but I realize I have to keep things at a distance. I hope she’ll eventually be awakened, but I doubt it. She had quit her job to pioneer & learn ASL, but when reality hit her in the face, she re-applied and got back in the company. She’s a phenomenal employee and does very well with our clients and fellow employees.
Another JW whom I share office space with is always singing kingdom melodies or plays them on her PC…just makes me want to puke!!!
Other than that, my parents are out of the country for a couple months traveling & I haven’t been to FS nor meetings in months…so my fade is going great!
Peace

good morning all,.
i have had the opportunity over the last couple of years to speak with a couple of jw's who had either attended the same congregation i did or were married to someone who to the same one.
for the record, i disassociated myself in 1992 due to being followed around by an elder or two who had heard that i had ray franz's "crisis of conscience" in my possession.
I chose a job that requires a lot of travel (within and outside my country)....this is good for my fade, but I've heard that "Bro Kool Jo doesn't love Jehovah that much if he chose to a job where's he away from spiritual activities"...
thank you for this forum.
thank you for your stories which helped wake me up from my delusion.
thank you for letting me join you.
Welcome aboard!
this question is primarily geared towards those that are "still in" or trying to "fade" like myself....now that you know the "truth about the truth"...if their is someone that knows you or your family are associated with jw's and ask you for your opinion of the religion or ask about studying with the jw's...how would you respond?.
my reason for asking is that a girl i knew for many years now (since childhood) was invited to the kh by her coworker...she knew that my family and i are jw's since childhood...she went to the meetings and stated how she's learnt something new and she got "love bombed"...she's a fanastic girl and don't want her sucked into this cult...if she asks me about my experience as a jw, i want to be honest with her, but if i tell her how i feel, she may go back to my parents or the coworker and spill the beans...how would you handle it?.
the second part of my query...we know that the wtbs bashes education...here's my situation....i got a college degree, i have a decent job for my age with possibility of further progression...there were many persons who were critical of me for attending college....saying how i could go to bethel, or pioneer or some other rubbish...now that college is done and you're working...you're ask to help out someone in the congregation financially...even the person who was critical of you...the person fell on hard times and needs a hand with their bills...would you assist this person out of the goodness of your heart, or would you abstain from helping because they were critical of you during college?.

what did you decide to do?.
leave with a bang, trying to educate those around you before leaving?
perhaps writing letters to others forgiving/ asking for forgiveness.. or.
I'm still in the fading process...go to meetings (only sundays) a couple times a month...midweek meeting is non existent for me...no FS for over 5 months now, but still send in time...recently stepped down as an MS.
Peace

was a jw for 40 years.
stopped attending 2010...resigned officially in 2011. still a little shell shocked but beginning to feel much better now.
awesome revelation....people in the world are not all that bad.
Welcome aboard!
how long were they able to stay?
what conversation or other things did you do together?.
The ones my parents hosted had a huge appetite!!! When I was in my pre-teen years, they always said how I should enter the world of being a CO or DO...and how it's a privilege...blah blah blah...
Their was one of them who was really cool, loved basketball and that's all he did when he stayed with us for a few nights...I also had a hoop in my backyard and that's where he hung out...it's like he was obsessed with basketball...
Kool Jo
today, i have attended my jc meeting, courtesy of three local elders.
all three had their "shepherd"-books on their laps.
i carefully and meticulously proved to them that their interpretation of dan.
Congrats!!! Enjoy your freedom

hello people,
i'd like to start by saying wow!
i've only just discovered this "world" of ex jw's so i'm still catching up on lots of stuff, my story is a bit long so don't know if people have patience to read :p but if you can bear the reading then i'm happy to share.
Welcome aboard!!! This is a large ex-jw site...hope you'll enjoy it here.
